New Sands Community Residents

In the first quarter of 2018 more than a dozen families have become part of the Sands community. They have selected the Sands because of its natural beauty, its sense of community and its access to beaches and wet lands.

Sophie Riddoch a graphic designer and her husband who is an artist are expecting their first child and they will be moving here next month. Young families make up a large part of our community and Sophie is hoping to meet other young families at the community drinks on 6th April.

Noel Smith is a Vet in Ascot Vale and intending to retire and live in the Sands. He enjoys an outdoor life, loves the feel of the Sands and its passion for pets!

Wendy, Neil and son Scott have been renting in Torquay for the past year looking for the right property. They have brought in the Sands because of its natural beauty, its isolation and its sense of community. they are loving it here.

Tennis and golf updates

Sands residents are again able to book the tennis courts beside the hotel at no cost. To book ring the hotel reception (03 52643333), confirm that you are a resident of the Sands and they will let you know what times are available.

The Sands Community also has a Social Tennis club which currently plays on Tuesday nights commencing at 7.30 pm.

TENNIS AT THE SANDS!!

We are pleased to announce that tennis lessons will now be offered for residents at the Sands in 2018.

Qualified coach Olivia Rich will offer quality professional coaching for all ages and abilities.

Classes are held at the Sands from Monday to Friday:

  • Red Ball Hotshots – 5-7 years old – Monday to Friday – commencing at 3.45pm;
  • Orange Ball hotshots – 7-9 years old – Monday to Friday – commencing at 4.15pm;
  • Green Ball Lessons 10 + years old – Monday, Wednesday & Thursday at 5.15 pm;
  • Green Ball Lessons 12 + years old – Mondays & Thursdays – 6.15 pm;

Adult social mixed tennis will also be offered on Thursday nights from 7pm. An expression of interest is required.
